Who We Are
We are a 501-c-3 nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring that vulnerable school children have access to quality care delivered by NY's 250 school-based health centers. We work hand-in-hand with the NY School-Based Health Alliance, the membership and advocacy organization of NY's school-based health centers.
What We Do
We work to promote, strengthen, and expand access to NY's school-based health centers by offering technical assistance, training, and data services. We also work to build public awareness of the vital role and enormous potential of school-based health centers.
School Based Health Centers...

Are located in public schools in underserved communities, thus ensuring that services are immediately accessible to students.

Work collaboratively with school administration and staff and are an integral part of the school environment.

Provide a comprehensive range of services that meet specific physical and behavioral community needs.

Employ multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, registered nurses, social workers, alcohol and drug counselors, and more.

Are operated by qualified health providers such as hospitals, community health centers, and health departments.

Require parents to sign written consents for their children to receive the full scope of services provided.
Have advisory committees that provide planning and oversight. These include community members, parents, youth, and family organizations.
