Larry McReynolds, Executive director, Family Health Centers at NYU Langone, NYU Langone Health
At NYU Langone, Dr. Larry McReynolds leads one of the state’s largest federally qualified health centers, which provides care to more than 100,000 patients in underserved communities through more than 600,000 visits annually. The Family Health Centers, of which he is the executive director, serve the city’s largest Medicaid population, providing access to care for patients facing economic and tech barriers. Dr. McReynolds has guided an organization that functions as a health lifeline for some of the city’s most at-risk individuals. In 2022 the FHC served more than 7,000 homeless patients throughout the city, focusing on primary, dental, women’s and pediatric care and chronic illnesses.
To add to Crain's feature, the New York School-Based Health Foundation would also like to recognize Board Member Larry McReynolds' work expanding and advocating for school-based health clinics (SBHCs). Under Dr. McReynolds’ leadership Family Health Center has grown to include 8 main primary care sites with dental clinics co-located at 6 sites, SBHCs co-located in 61 New York City public schools, and a myriad of community-based programs impacting youth, adults and elderly, and 5 sub-recipients of Section 330 funding.
Congratulations to Dr. McReynolds and thank you for your tireless efforts to expand care to all children!
