Medicaid Telehealth Guidance During COVID-19
Please find links for recently released Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) on Medicaid Telehealth Guidance during the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) State of Emergency. The FAQs provide additional clarification and detail on policy contained in the March 2020 Medicaid Update Special Edition Regarding Use of Telehealth and Telephonic Services.
Formed from questions from the field, the FAQ provides additional clarification regarding face-to-face visits, telehealth, telemedicine, telephonic, and other forms of remote care provision. Specifically, these questions and answers are intended to provide context-based examples to be used in concert with existing guidance that has been released by the NYS Department of Health and other State Agencies, and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
The FAQs will also be posted on the COVID-19 Guidance for Medicaid Providers webpage, which is updated regularly with guidance and information.
Coming soon, the Department of Health will also host a webinar to explain the Telehealth and Telephonic guidance and take questions. A separate notice with details regarding the webinar is forthcoming.
