SBHC Modified Medicaid Managed Care Carve-In Legislation Introduced in the NYS

NYSBHA is pleased to announce that Senator Gustavo Rivera, Chair of the NYS Senate Health Committee and Assemblyman Richard Gottfried, Chair of the NYS Assembly Health Committee, have co-sponsored recently introduced legislation which amends social services law to permit SBHCs to choose to remain out of Medicaid managed care and to guide cooperation between SBHCs and Medicaid managed care providers. Assembly bill A09894, same as Senate bill S07812 protects the choice of each SBHC to operate either carved-out from Medicaid managed care or participating in Medicaid managed care.
